Kristen Ezsol, MA, LPC
Practitioner at Kinship Holistic Psychotherapy
Therapy for Trauma, Relationships, and Religious Deconstruction
You may understand intellectually why you feel the way you do and still find yourself caught in patterns you don’t quite know how to change. Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself, overwhelmed by your emotions, unsure of what you need, or find that past experiences keep showing up in your relationships and in your body.
I believe therapy can be a place to slow down, get curious about what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin making sense of your experiences with someone who is genuinely alongside you. Rather than simply talking about your experiences, we'll create safety to notice what is happening in the present moment. Together, we can explore your emotions, your body, your relationships, and the parts of yourself that may have gone unseen or unmet. My hope is that, over time, you can feel more connected to yourself and others, more compassionate toward who you are, and more at home and at ease in your body.
My Philosophy:
I believe meaningful healing happens through connection—with ourselves, with others, and within the safety of a supportive therapeutic relationship. My approach is relational, experiential, emotion-focused, and body-centered, grounded primarily in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and informed by other somatic and experiential approaches.
Rather than viewing you as something that needs fixing, I see your emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns as vital responses to your experiences. Together, we’ll explore how earlier experiences may have shaped the ways you understand yourself, relate to others, and respond to your emotions. We’ll gently peel back the layers, developing a deeper understanding of the needs and protective patterns that may have once helped you but no longer serve you.
I believe therapy involves more than gaining insight or talking about what has happened. We’ll also slow down and pay attention to your present-moment experience—including emotions, sensations in your body, and what emerges within our relationship in the therapy room. Through this experiential process, we can develop greater capacity to move through difficult emotions and create new ways of responding.
At the heart of my work is the belief that being deeply seen, understood, and met with compassion can be transformative. I believe that when we have the space and support to understand ourselves more deeply, something new can become possible.
